Storytelling Course

Course Description

Using a narrative creates a story that resonates with and is remembered by your audience. A story captures the imagination, you feel absorbed in it, fascinated to learn what happens next, there are emotional highs and lows, villains and heroes (even in business!) and for a while, you are transported into a world the speaker has conjured in your imagination. If the story is well told, the key message of the story will be remembered long after the rest of the communication has been forgotten.

Investing time in creating a narrative and presenting that well to your audience makes your communication effective - it is engaging and ensures that information is retained.

This course teaches you how to create a narrative using the 'rollercoaster' method which can be adapted to any situation. Once you have created your narrative, how do you communicate it? Before you open PowerPoint…

Did you know that 90% of the written information on each of your PowerPoint slides is forgotten by your audience? No wonder they call it Death by PowerPoint! Learn how to make PowerPoint work for you and make you and your narratives the stars of the show.

What topics are covered?

Our courses are tailored to your needs by selecting from a list of tools, each of which is an individual topic and takes about an hour. Each tool generally covers one key management skill, behaviour or attribute, is accompanied by a toolcard (which builds up to create a personalised toolkit) and uses our Tell-Show-Do experiential learning methodology.

Creative Narratives

1. Creating Narratives

We’ll cover how stories work, how they build empathy and trust in your audience, and how to manage the body’s naturally produced hormones to engage your audience.
