Building AI Confidence

A Facilitated Workshop for a Global Pharmaceutical Team

The situation and brief

A global pharmaceutical team wanted to strengthen AI literacy and day‑to‑day practical capability across their regional medical teams. With Microsoft Copilot as the only approved AI tool, many colleagues lacked clarity on what safe, compliant usage looked like and how to apply AI meaningfully to their day-to-day work. Early feedback from teams also highlighted concerns around accuracy, data privacy, and the time required to develop effective prompting techniques.

The Treehouse solution and activity

Treehouse partnered with AI Confident to design a tailored programme combining virtual upskilling for 11 AI Champions with a high‑impact, in‑person workshop for the wider European team. During the Kick‑Off and Train‑the‑Champions sessions, the group identified real medical tasks where AI could add value. These insights shaped ten company‑specific “quick win” use cases reflecting the team’s most relevant challenges - from simplifying clinical content to structuring slide decks and summarising literature.

The programme culminated in a hands‑on workshop in Florence for 80 participants. Working with Treehouse, AI Confident, and supported by the AI Champions, participants practised practical prompting techniques, applied AI to their own to‑do lists, and explored the ten use cases through guided table‑based experimentation. The format created a supportive environment where teams could test, refine, and confidently embed AI into real workflows.

The outcome or impact

The programme brought clarity by defining how Copilot can be used safely and appropriately within the company's governance. It strengthened capability as participants gained practical, repeatable techniques for applying AI to real medical tasks. Most importantly, it built confidence: the collaborative, hands‑on design directly addressed concerns around accuracy, privacy, and getting started, leaving teams more willing and able to use AI effectively in their everyday work.

Client feedback

Participants also shared that the content felt highly relevant and motivating, and that linking AI to practical tools and collaborative ways of working made the learning particularly impactful.
